Now that christmas time is over, I can finally feel financially safe to drop some dollarydoos on replacing the turbo on my Sti. Initially I’d planned to have it rebuilt by this Subaru turbo specialist “Six Star Speed” but it now seems they’ve gone out of business and taken lots of customer turbos and money with them (glad I waited!)

However I now have to find a new solution, internet legwork has led me to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and was looking to see if any opponauts were familiar with them? A quick chat with them via email sounded reassuring, they knew details about VF series turbos & Subaru applications so I think it’s a solid option. Also seems cheaper than any used turbos I’ve been able to find online.

I don’t know anything about tim’sturbos, but if you are still shopping around, I would recommend www.evergreenturbo.com I learned of them back when I had my SVO and had good results. I’ve recommended a few other people to them with various turbos and they got reliable rebuilds. Couldn’t hurt to at least compare pricing.

Dunno how cool you are with exploring the dark side, but on dsmtuners.com in the vendor section there are a few people who rebuild turbo’s of both makes and won’t break the wallet. S’pretty easy to find em
